This text provides an update of the laws governing employment and labor relations in Cambodia.
1. Labor Law promulgated by Royal Code, dated March 13, 1997, which has been amended three times.
-1st amendment: Law on the Amendment of Articles 139 and 144 of the Labor Law, which was promulgated by Royal Code, dated July 20, 2007.
-2nd amendment: Law on the Amendment of Article 87, Title “C”, Part 3 of Chapter 4, Article 89, Article 90, Article 91, Article 94, Article 110, Article 120 and Article 122 of the Labor Law, which was promulgated by Royal Code, dated June 26, 2018.
-3rd amendment: Law on the Amendment of Article 123, Article 138, Article 162, Article 300, Article 343, Article 350, Article 363 and Article 367 of the Labor Law, which was promulgated by Royal Code, dated October 05, 2021.
2. The Law on Trade Unions promulgated by Royal Code, dated 17 May 2016, which has been amended once:
-Law on the Amendment of Article 3, Article 17, Article 20, Article 21, Article 27, Article 28, Article 29, Article 54, Article 55 and Article 59 of the Law on Trade Unions, which was promulgated by Royal Code, dated January 3, 2020.3.
3. Law on Minimum Wage, promulgated by Royal Code, dated July 06, 2018.
4. Law on the Social Security Schemes, promulgated by Royal Code, dated November 2, 2019.
Other than the above laws, there are other general laws such as Constitution and Civil Code which also govern the employment and labor relations in Cambodia.
